William G. Thomson, PA-C

Bill completed his undergraduate studies at the Long Island University and subsequently graduated from the LIU/Brooklyn Hospital Physician Assistant program magna cum laude. He subsequently trained at The Beth Israel Medical center where he served full-time in Emergency Medicine and part-time in Orthopaedics.

In December of 2002 Mr. Thomson joined Garden State Orthopaedic Associates. Working with the practice surgeons has helped fine-tune his competence in Orthopaedics. On a daily basis, Mr. Thomson works hand in hand with all of the Surgeons as well as his fellow Physician Assistants to provide the highest level of care to his patients.

Mr. Thomson feels strongly that education is a very important part of his practice. He is directly involved with training second-year PA students from Cornell University and other PA programs. He is actively involved in The Valley Hospital PA shadowing program, which allows high school and college students to get involved early in observing PAs in a clinical setting. Mr. Thomson works diligently to guide students, who hope to pursue a future in medicine, in the right direction.

Bryan D. Sheldon, PA-C

Bryan completed his undergraduate degree at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine with a focus in Athletic Training. He became a Certified Athletic Trainer after passing the national exam. He subsequently attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry and received a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant.

Bryan joined Garden State Orthopaedic Associates as a Physician Assistant in 2006 where he has enjoyed treating a multitiude of orthopaedic injuries. He is a Fellow Member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He maintains privileges at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Long K. Bui-Le, PA-C

Mrs. Bui-Le was born and raised in Vietnam. In 1985, as a teenager without knowing a word of English, Mrs. Bui-Le and her family migrated to the United States to start a new life. She continued her academic career in high school and graduated from Dover High School in Dover, New Jersey, four years later at the top 3% of her class. Afterwards, Mrs. Bui-Le attended the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, New Jersey with a full academic scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with High Honors, and minors in Math and Biology. During her undergraduate years, she was recommended to work as a research assistant in synthetic organic chemical research at AlliedSignal, Inc., in Morristown, New Jersey. Through this experience, Mrs. Bui-Le earned her name in two paper publications. In addition, she presented her research paper at the Northern New Jersey Regional Honors Recognition and was the winner of Jean Durana Award.

After college, Mrs. Bui-Le spent the next two years at The Rockefeller University in New York,New York, studying and performing medical research in Immunology and AIDS clinical studies. She is an author in numerous publications in Journal of Experimental Medicine and Journal of Clinical Investigation. Through her experience in medical and clinical research, Mrs. Bui-Le realized her dream of becoming a medical provider and pursued her career in Physician Assistant Studies. Mrs. Bui-Le graduated with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Upon graduation, Mrs. Bui-Le worked at Overlook Hospital in the Department of General and Vascular Surgery. Subsequently, she joined the Department of Surgery at UMDNJ, The University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. She spent the next twelve years gaining extensive surgical experience in Cardiothoracic surgery and Trauma Critical Care, before joining Garden State Orthopaedic Associates in 2011. Mrs. Bui-Le underwent additional training in orthopedic surgery and is now providing general orthopedic care at Garden State Orthopaedic Associates.

Mrs. Bui-Le is affiliated with Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistant and the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistant. Also, Mrs. Bui-Le is certified in BLS, ACLS, and ATLS.

Jeffrey R. Lee, PA-C

Jeffrey completed his undergraduate training at Marietta College in Ohio, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine. He worked briefly in athletic training assisting the New Jersey Nets. Subsequently he attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Seton Hall University where he achieved his Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies.

Jeffrey entered clinical practice in 1998, initially working for Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Rockland County, New York. He also worked in urgent care for several years. Jeffrey was the first orthopaedic physician assistant to be an active staff member at Nyack and Good Samaritan Hospitals. He is board certified and licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York. In 2013, he joined Garden State Orthopaedic Associates.

Jeffrey is excited to be part of a great team of physicians, physician assistants, and staff. He treats his patients with compassion and takes a conservative approach in managing all orthopedic problems. Jeffrey enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He stays active participating in many recreational sports activities throughout the year. He also regularly volunteers for his children’s sports teams including being an active board member/safety officer for his local little league.

Justin P. Van Grouw, PA-C

Justin completed his undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science. Subsequently, he completed his Physician Assistant training at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Prior to becoming a PA, Justin played professional baseball in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization and worked in physical therapy, which led to his passion for orthopedics and sports medicine.

Justin is board-certified and licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey and is excited to be part of the Garden State Orthopaedic Associates team. He is passionate about a patient-centered approach to treatment and utilizing conservative measures to help patients return to an active and healthy lifestyle.
